Veterinary Medicine Team

Bonny Willhite, DVM
Chief Medical Officer and Owner

Dr. Bonny’s love for animals began when she was growing up on a rural dairy farm in upstate New York as the only girl of four children. Today, she and her husband, Ron, have two beagles, AnnaBelle and Baron. The beagle weather vane on the roof of Animal Wellness Clinic was created by Dr. Bonny's father, Gerry Scheck. In a nod to the bond between fathers and daughters, Dr. Bonny's father used Truman, AnnaBelle's father, as his model for the beagle weather vane.

After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology, Dr. Bonny attended Cornell University studying veterinary medicine and graduated with highest honors, including awards for excellence in small animal internal medicine and large animal surgery.

Once becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Bonny moved to Atlanta and practiced small animal medicine in Roswell for 20 years at a veterinary hospital where she served as medical director. She is particularly interested in pain management, dermatology, anatomy, nutrition and soft tissue surgery. After acquiring land, and designing and building a state-of-the-art facility that meets the best practices of her 20 years’ experience, Dr. Bonny opened Animal Wellness Clinic in 2019.

Dr. Bonny’s hobbies are mountain biking, hiking with her dogs and motorcycling.
